Snowflake Pizza

Did you know that making pizzas is an educational and healthy food craft for kids of all ages? Just by making dough from scratch, kids can learn about food science — how yeast makes dough rise! They can also develop fine motor skills by simply squishing the dough around. What about nutrition? If you have a picky eater, take this opportunity to have a variety of vegetable toppings available. They may not choose veggies the first time around, but always have them as an option. One night your creative little chef might surprise you with a tasty veggie creation.

This holiday season, make pizza night extra special by using cookie cutters to cut out different holiday shapes. Snowflake pizzas might become a new holiday tradition in your home! Share your holiday shaped pizzas with us on social media with the hashtag #holidaypizza.

Kids can help:

  • Prepare pizza dough.
  • Roll dough out onto a floured surface.
  • Cut out shapes using cookie cutters.
  • Brush sauce onto pizzas.
  • Decorate pizzas with favorite toppings.
