Berry Yummy Smoothie

Foodstirs Berry Smoothie

Smoothies are nutritious, kid-friendly meals that are perfect anytime during the day and are portable when you are on the go! I know most school mornings are busy trying to get everyone out the door on time and so breakfast ends up being forgotten or grabbing a cereal bar that can easily be eaten in the car. Blending up some fruits and veggies will fill up your kid’s belly while giving them a little more nutrition. Just don’t forget the lids!

Running short on time in the morning, but would love to drink a smoothie? Try adding these tips to your routine:

The night before:

  • Pull your blender out onto your counter top.
  • Set out all of your cups, lids, and straws. (Remember, don’t forget the lids!)
  • Measure out your frozen fruit ingredients and combine everything into a gallon size freezer bag. Store it in the freezer.

The morning of:

  • Grab your freezer bag of fruit.
  • Toss it into your blender.
  • Add your liquids.
  • Pour and go.

For the moments when you are not in a time crunch, smoothies are such an easy way to get your kid’s creativity flowing in the kitchen.

Kids can learn how to:

  • Create their own flavor combinations of fruits and vegetables.
  • Read fractions while measuring.
  • Explore the science of liquids and solids when freezing ice cubes.
